honestly, even almost 10 years after his death. I have not seen a character affect so many people from the whole world. RAGNAR . Travis Fimmel is could not do a better job, i can not imagine a viking before thinking of Ragnar. From the hair style, to the beard, to the attitude, to dogs' names, tattoos, rune and symbols. as a northman i couldn't be more proud than this series and travis his sons and all the crew. Vikings is the opposite of GoT(trash). they wanted 1 season, but it became so accurate and successful they green lit 6 seasons. upping the production and becoming for me, the best series ever. Because you can see, feel, hear the passion. GoT were begged to produce 2 more seasons and finish properly, not finishing the worst way for another project they failed at. even after ragnar died, just the war cry of the heathen army screaming his name before attacking is bone chilling...

the episode Ragnar died legit cried even after watching that episode multiple times , and the speech he gives while in the horse carriage to the blind man just amazing. How Travis never won an award for his role as Ragnar goes to show you that rewards are just for show. He played 4 characters in essence. He played at the start the naive farmer with hopes and dreams, a young man not filled with ambition but a curisoty of the outside world. He triumphs over many hardships and finally becomes king, So thats another character he plays. And you can see the changes in his character as certain events unfold it also forces him to change. Being betrayed by King Ecbert, by his brother twice, even Floki by killing Athelston someone he considered to the his closest friend. Then comes defeat, which leads us to Old King Ragnar yet another totally different character that he plays. Yes other characters change as well but not to the extent that Ragnar did and he had a presence. He didn't speak unless it was important. There's too many moments where Travis steals the spotlight in the show Vikings playing Ragnar but one of my favs are outside of Paris after they have failed to breach the walls and everyone is arguing what to do next and he gives his famous "I'm King Ragnar speech" and you could see his raw emotions. No one else in the show could capture the moment as he could cause it was so authentic. Watching Bjorn after Ragnar died was painful cause his acting seemed too false , hyped up.
